Our Yoga Feeds America challenge is a very personal challenge to us. This challenge was the first real thing we ever put together as INFLUXR exactly 1 year ago.

Since then we’ve created so many more challenges, but none of them mark the beginning of our journey as INFLUXR.

Last year, we donated approximately 26,000 meals all across the country. This year, and with your help, we’re hoping to donate so many more.

KAPOTASANA!!!

Miles to go before….
KAPOTASANA!

I have never been taught this pose. And obviously never really wanted to go at it on my own, as I barely do wheel on my own.

I have been working around with it a tiny bit over the past week, due to an Instagram challenge.

What I know so far: It is brutal. I am very far away from it. It hits most of my tight places. Keeping the hips forward is hard business. Landing the elbows, oh my. And those feet are very far away. It would be nice to have some partners to help! It was also way sweeter at the beach, in the sand.

Stops Along the Way

Fun, beach practice toward the scorpion variation of pinchamayurasana. Still working on the balance and the length, and–oh yeah–that “heart melting” before bending those knees. There are many stops along the way in this practice. I usually stop at the vertical variation, but challenged to play around. Beach mindset helps.

Beach Bravery

Beach favorites? For me, handstands. For the rest of my gang, other stuff, like
skim boarding. I am so much braver on the sand, even though this #HiltonHead sand is not soft at all. Like asphalt. We ride our bikes on it with ease. But I will kick up over and over again, seeking one moment aloft, balanced, inverted. A celebration each time. I am hoping to take some of my #inversion bravery home with me, as well as the beach backbend work, which is also much more fun and much braver.
